Ah, YouTube – the perfect place to watch cat videos or post footage of yourself singing into your webcam. Of course that’s a joke, because today’s YouTube is a far more sophisticated place and highly beneficial for businesses wishing to share high-quality video content with consumers. But, do you know about YouTube Spaces? If you’re uninformed, now is the perfect time to learn about them, as the fourth YouTube Space opens in Manhattan next month.
What’s a YouTube Space?
It’s a place for education, collaboration and creation. Video creators can utilize these spaces to learn from industry leaders, work with others to produce quality content, and create new work of their own. The first YouTube space was launched in Los Angeles in 2012, and since then, London and Tokyo have gained YouTube Spaces as well. Thousands of videos have been created in these facilities, which offer an opportunity for users to utilize state-of-the-art equipment for their creations.
YouTube Space Manhattan
The opening of the Manhattan YouTube Space brings what has been, in the United States, a West Coast resource to the East Coast. Located at Chelsea Market, it will offer YouTube creators unprecedented access to resources, tools and guidance. Once this space opens in November, it will feature:
- Learning opportunities: Training programs, workshops and master classes will all offer hands-on training from industry experts.
- Connection: What’s better than creating? Collaborating creatively. At the NY YouTube Space, there will be events to attend and plenty of opportunities to brainstorm with your fellow creators.
- Creative access: Loaner production equipment, including cameras, lights, and boom microphones, as well as sets, sound stages, and post production facilities, will help you realize your vision and create your best work.
So, who can use a YouTube Space? That’s perhaps the most exciting news. A YouTube artist with a minimum of 5000 subscribers can gain access to the Space, as long as they’re part of the Partner Program.
