It’s on, like syrup slathered all over a waffle (and let’s be clear, these waffles are American)!
We don't believe in Belgium waffles

Early yesterday morning, Waffle House tweeted this and jumped on the ‘Merica bandwagon.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that the US Men’s National Soccer Team plays today at 3 PM against Belgium in the World Cup. This game is serious because it’s ‘win or go home.’ No more of this “lose and advance” nonsense.
Nationalism is at an all-time high—many Americans are even watching soccer for the very first time.
This is a smart move by Waffle House.
Relating a restaurant famous for their breakfast items to a worldwide soccer event – futbol, sorry I’m new to this sport – is absolutely genius.
Using Twitter to spread the message is even more genius. Their engagement usually consists of happy customers and people begging for a Waffle House in their hometown (I’m looking at you, College Station). This draws in a completely different demographic, i.e., All Americans!
This is also funny:
Good move Waffle House.
And GO USA!
On that note, who’s up for some waffles?
