Twitter users like to tweet about music. According to Mashable, there were over one billion tweets about music in 2013 alone, with around one hundred million of those originating from music-related accounts! And even though Twitter has shut down their Twitter Music app, they are planning to partner with Billboard.com to create a Billboard Twitter Real-Time Chart that will be displayed on Billboard.com.
@Billboard and @TwitterMusic will tweet data about music from this chart, including information on which new artists and songs are gaining popularity. The chart will track real-time music conversations and perhaps totally change the way we measure music success.
