eBay Senior Director of Mobile Innovation and Emerging Markets, Ryan Melcher, took a moment to speak with wayvs CEO Brian Bethal during SXSWi to discuss eBay’s new Pebble Smartwatch app.
The Pebble Smartwatch runs on iOS and Android phones. The newest app allows users to access their eBay feeds, view product images and prices and other information, directly from the watch face. You can add items to your watch list and even set up alerts on the status of items your bidding on.
The goal of this new app is to keep eBay users engaged and make sure they never miss a great deal on any of the items they are interested in.

As a real marketing consultant back in the 80's 90s, I think this is just a idiotic thing to wear or have. You have your smartphone to set an alarm for items you might want, not one more gadget plus the fact that most people are NOT buying today as they are reeling with bills from the long cold winter. This is strickly for a OCD shopper.
