In today’s world, social media can be your best friend or your worst enemy. Everyone has an opinion, and censorship takes a backseat. That’s why it’s no surprise there is so much talk on Twitter about the Anti-Gay Bill up for vote in Arizona.

 

In case you’re living under a rock, here’s the back story.

 

Senate Bill #1062, a bill backed by a social conservative group that opposes abortion and gay marriage, was passed by Arizona’s Legislature. The bill will allow businesses to deny service to homosexuals based on the religious beliefs of the owner.

Update

Gov. Jan Brewer announced Wednesday she vetoed a bill that would have allowed business to deny services to patrons because of their sexual orientation based on the business owner’s religious beliefs.

 

According to CNN, Brewer said, “However, I sincerely believe that Senate Bill 1062 has the potential to create more problems than it purports to solve. It could divide Arizona in ways we cannot even imagine, and no one would ever want.”
