Three hundred of the brightest, most talented minds in social media marketing, including seven representatives of Splash Media Group, have gathered for the second annual Spredfast Social Summit, taking place Oct. 16-18 in Austin, Texas.
Arianna Huffington, president and editor in chief of the Huffington Media Group, delivered the keynote address today. Huffington, described by Fortune as one of the few people who “get” the Internet, delivered the keynote address, “Fearless Leadership and Social Media: Achieving Business Success in an Evolving Media Landscape.” This presentation focused on the latest online and social media trends, and she shared her vision of a hybrid future where traditional media and new media thrive in the face of adversity and fearlessly become one.
Among the other sessions schedule for today (Oct. 17), Splash Media’s own Ryan Miller participated in a four-person panel discussion titled “Look Who’s Talking: Activating Brand Influencers and Advocates in your Social Programs.” Miller, the Account Director who has handled more than 200 accounts during his tenure at Splash Media, shared his insights about engaging advocates and influencers in social media.
“This event is awesome,” Miller said. “What an outstanding opportunity this is, to come here and learn what brand managers have to say about the impact of social media marketing has on their brands and the challenges they face in the realm of social media. I’m honored that I was asked to participate on one of the panels.”
Tomorrow’s keynote address is a Fireside Chat, led by Spredfast CEO Rod Favaron and Blake Chandlee, Global Vice President of Facebook’s GMS Partnership Team. They will speak on the dynamic and evolving landscape for brands in social media, and how Spredfast and Facebook are working together to continue innovation that impacts brands. Chandlee will share his insights on the “Why” of Facebook and its Preferred Marketing Developer’s Program focus on helping marketers and advertisers establish and grow lasting relationships with customers.
Other panel discussions during this three-day event will include speakers from major brands such as Aramark, AT&T, General Mills, LinkedIn, Whole Foods, Lexis Nexis, and many more.
