It’s been an amazing year! We have been able to watch the Social Media Revolution from the front row as it has changed the way we live and communicate with one another. On that note, we are looking forward to what 2012 will bring. I asked our team of dedicated social media managers and staff what their resolutions and predictions for 2012 are. Enjoy their answers!
“I can’t wait to see the new iPad. It’s coming in Spring 2012 and it’s going to be amazing!”- Social Media Manager Stephanie Williams @stloro
“I predict 2012 will see further integration of Social Media into TV shows through voting, live Tweeting, and discussion of social media feedback on the broadcasts.” – Social Media Manager Melissa Ruggles @AspenRayne
“I really think we will see an increase in media convergence with Social Media. There will be less of a line between traditional media and social. Outdoor will intergrate social (think digital billboards streaming tweets in high traffic areas), Newspapers will go more digital with Facebook feeds, and selling social advertising; TV as it becomes more connected by way of Netflix, Xbox 360, Wii, PS3, etc, will become much more social in nature. Gone are the days of traditional vs. social, now it will be called what it all really is, and that is media.”- Social Media Manager Adam Robinson @TweetsbyaRob
“Google with change their algorithm again and Khloe Kardashian will trend for Dallas through the end of basketball season. Also, my new years resolutions are to floss more and take a vitamin every day” – Social Media Manager Jill Malone @JillSMalone
“Google+ users are on the rise, Android users are on the rise, the release of Android 4.0 ICS will continue to increase those rising numbers in 2012… but it will still leave Google+ miles behind Facebook in users, web traffic, and revenues.” – Social Media Manager Willie Kelly @TweetsByWillie
“Pinterest may become more of a marketing tool than an art form. Google + will either fade away or come up with the next “wow” feature in social media.” – Social Media Manager Natalie Bidnick @nataliebid
“My resolution for the New Year is to start living healthier by not eating as much fast food and remembering to take time to disconnect from my smartphone and computer. Maybe I’ll get adventurous and start running [walking] a few times a week!” – Social Media Manager Victoria Cardenas @VictoriaAshley4
“My New Year’s resolution is to begin my graduate studies…starting with conquering the GMAT! MBA here I come!” – Social Media Manager Amanda Hawkins @AmandaHawk
“2 predictions: Google+ will gain popularity over Skype by the end of 2012 (it’s actually much cooler, just not enough people on Google+) and Pinterest is where it’s at! By the end of 2012, it will have more hits than Yelp, Myspace (yes it still gets hits, over 53 million visits this year)…shoot, maybe even LinkedIn! Khloe Kardashian will be opening a DASH in Dallas, or at least filming an entire season here about it! And of course LSU winning the National Title!” – Social Media Manager Jennifer Sokoloff @SokoOnTheRadio
“I’m predicting a Zombie Apocalypse. You laugh now, but right before you’re having your brains ripped out by the undead, your last thought’s gonna be “oh yeah, Mark predicted this!”” – Social Media Listener Mark Twaddell @mark_twaddell
“My resolution is to finally fix my running injury and my goal is to complete my first marathon before the end of 2012! Pretty sure my Nike App on my iPhone will come in quite handy!” – Social Media Manager Holly Rountree @HollyRountree
My prediction for 2012 is that Google still has surprises yet to come with regards to Google+ and it might not be out of the race just yet! You can find me on Twitter at @CarlyJennifer.
