Does Having A Lot of Fans Equate to Business?

If it’s not too daring, Bob, I’d like to answer your question with a question: If more people know about your business, does that help your business? I think the quick answer is “Yes!” The more others know who you are and what you are about, the more likely they are to do business with you.
But it’s not just about quantity. Just having fans on your page doesn’t do the trick. It really helps if you remain in contact with those fans, helping them find you as a prominent resource in your industry. This will eventually convert “Likes” to sales. It is important to make sure that you are not just attracting anyone from anywhere. What helps is if your fans are people genuinely interested in the service or product you offer, or have connections in your field of expertise. Facebook is the new word-of-mouth – just like people used to buy certain products or goods because others recommended them, today Facebook has become the way to recommend products and services. By building a large fan base, you get your name out not only to your fans, but also to everyone in their network!
At the end of the day numbers are important. They allow you to reach out to a greater audience and have a more effective voice. However, in order to retain your fan base, it is vital to keep them engaged. Find out what your fans want to know and provide them with the conversations and content that they need. That’s what turns fans into evangelists for your brand.
