Jimmy Fallon’s Late Night Hashtag game is an excellent example of how a brand can use hashtags to increase Twitter engagement and grow their community. Once a week or so, Fallon sends out a hashtag and encourages his followers to contribute their stories to the subject. Then, after a deluge of hilarious tweets all centered on this hashtag, Jimmy Fallon features the best tweets on his show.

I personally love the hashtag game and really enjoy reading all the responses. It makes me want to follow @JimmyFallon and watch the “Late Show.” And those are successful results that most brands should be shooting for.
