You’ve probably heard by now, last night’s season premiere of Game of Thrones crashed HBO’s mobile app HBO Go. HBO also premiered a brand new show, Silicon Valley, right after Game of Thrones. And now, in a move to increase its online fan base, HBO has posted the 30-minute Silicon Valley pilot episode on their YouTube channel.

They’ve done this before with the show Girls. They’re hoping to have repeat success.

The much-hyped Silicon Valley is about a man named Richard who is ready to quit his job at the Google-esque company he works for as he spends his nights working on a startup idea that he hopes will become ”the Google of music.”  Many of the show’s characters seem modeled after real-life Silicon Valley players, and the show maintains a great sense of humor.

Written by Mike Judge, the creator of Office Space, this show has promise … and perhaps by posting it for free on YouTube, HBO may bring in more fans.

You be the judge. What do you think of the new show?
