Facebook turned 10 on February 4, and as expected, people are talking about it. But how can you find the perfect gift for a global company that has been part of your life for years? Just say “thank you… thank you for everything.” No matter how old Facebook gets, or how much money gets tied up in the company’s stocks, they have always focused on giving back to us, its loyal users. And we need to thank everyone from Mark Zuckerberg to shareholders to every single user. Together, Facebook has helped us all create an amazing experience.

I’m not going to list the history of Facebook, or the accomplishments and shortcomings they’ve had over the years. This site has changed our lives, changed our world; even as it celebrates its own birthday, Facebook remains focused on giving back to us. This single website has changed the way people use the Internet to share pictures, videos, and stories. It has changed the way businesses reach their customers, and the way the public gets their news. It’s created an entire new industry, and helped bring new media advertising to the front page. What was once thought to be a fun sharing site for teens and college kids is now used by every demographic, on every continent. It has crossed all borders, languages, and social statuses. It has been an amazing 10 years, and I’m glad I’ve been with Facebook to experience it. In addition to giving the public Paper to celebrate their big 1-0, Facebook has surprised us with one more gift, A Look Back.

A Look Back will help you remember why you loved Facebook in the first place. It’s similar to the Year in Review they released in late 2013. In a quick one-minute video, they brought back memories from college, to starting my career, getting my first dog, and the one time I actually shaved my beard. It made me remember my past decade with friends, family, coworkers and, of course, Facebook. It has me excited again! I’m ready to see what the next 10 years will bring!  So here’s to you Facebook—thank you for everything you have given us!
